Limitless Wrestling Dirty Laundry full results: Ace Romero vs. Slade no DQ title match
By Josh Nason
The final Limitless Wrestling event in Maine of 2022 is in the books as last Saturday’s Dirty Laundry was headlined by a violent dance between LW World Champion Ace Romero defeating Slade in a no DQ match to retain the gold.
In case you missed the action in Yarmouth, Maine, or want to relive one of the company’s best cards of the year, head over to IWTV and watch the replay now.
While the show was headlined by Romero retaining the title, Dirty Laundry also featured several important news items as Rip Byson challenged Anthony Greene to a strap match at December 31st’s High Strung in Worcester, MA, and the teased big reveal as wrestling legend Ricky Morton will make his Limitless debut at the newly-announced January show called Hard to Handle.
Here’s a full recap of everything from Dirty Laundry:
Dezmond Cole defeated Bryan Keith
The incredible rookie year of “Da Big Boofa” in Limitless continues.
In a first time ever matchup, Cole went toe-to-toe with the multi-promotion champion in Keith, who was making his return to Limitless after unsuccessfully defeating then-LW Champion Alec Price earlier this year.
Cole showed off some new offensive techniques against the hard-hitting Keith including a Samoan driver and a gravity-defying Terminator dive to the outside. He also was able to somehow kick out of Keith’s Emerald Tiger Driver and fought out of a Diamond Dust attempt to hit his What Goes Up driver followed by The Jump Off to get his third straight win in Limitless.
B3CCA defeated Kylie Rae
Rae, making both her Maine and Limitless debut, was incredible as advertised, nearly defeating B3CCA on several occasions. The veteran was frustrated in her ability to finish off the pop star, including on a roll-through crossface that B3CCA had to fight out of by initially biting Rae’s hand.
Rae’s superkicks were flush and on point all night, but in the end, B3CCA got her second straight victory by hitting her 450 splash inside the ring following a moonsault on the outside of the ring. This was arguably the company’s best women’s match of the year and one of the better overall matches of the year.
Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) defeated CPA in a World Class Challenge match
Following a stirring introduction by the former WWE Hall of Famer, CPA was revealed as the man who accepted the first-ever World Class Challenge in his first Limitless appearance since season 3 of The Road as Nick Stapp. As CPA, he last wrestled at night 2 of the June 2019 La Kermesse Festival, teaming with Limitless commentator Troy Nelson.
CPA gave Thomas all he could handle, but a blocked top rope Frankensteiner attempt was the beginning of the end. Bakabella’s advice also came through as he instructed his charge to not follow through with a top rope move on CPA. Instead, he chose to hit a piledriver to pick up his first win in Yarmouth since August’s Vacationland Cup.
Afterward, Bakabella showed he is no one to mess with as a fan grabbed at his hair and was immediately taken down afterward. Don’t do that, people.
Above The Rest defeated The WorkHorsemen
After building up for months on social media, this online grudge finally took a physical form and boy, did it ever.
Action spilled outside early with Anthony Henry hitting a flying leg lariat to a seated Gabriel Skye, sending fans scattering. That was preceded by a memorable striking exchange in the ring by Henry and Tristen Thai.
Skye was brutalized for minutes on end, including in a Henry sequence that included a Muta lock and a surfboard followed by a vicious curb stomp to the back of Skye’s head that only got two, showing Skye’s toughness. He somehow also survived JD Drake’s machine gun chops and a Vader bomb out of the corner for another close near fall.
More near falls followed as Thai was almost finished by a Drake Drillbit while ATR nearly got the win off their signature monkey flip/knee strike combo on Henry.
The end came when Henry hit an Orange Crush bomb on Thai in the corner, followed by a side suplex into Henry’s knees but there was a problem: Thai wasn’t the legal man. Drake then got rolled up by Skye for the surprise win in an outstanding match.
Drake took the mic afterward and gave ATR props saying they are good, but that even though things like this happen, it won’t happen again.
“Congratulations ATR: we put you on the map,” he finished. Will we see the rematch someday?
Rip Byson defeated Ryan Mooney
Despite Byson being a regular in Limitless, this was a Pro Wrestling GRIND showcase and a rematch from a battle these two had earlier this year in GRIND. This was Mooney’s return to the company after he made his debut earlier this year in a four-way while Byson was coming off an October win over Covey Christ and MORTAR in a three-way, violently attacked by Anthony Greene after the match.
Mooney was amped to say the least, flying all around the ring in an effort to get Byson down. He was successful…until Byson’s power took over with chops and a slam to regain the advantage.
Mooney hit a crucifix driver to avoid the Lovegun lariat but couldn’t get the the win after hitting his Shadows Over Hell splash. Byson recovered, hitting a Falcon Arrow to soften up “The Rabid Honey Badger.” Following a chop battle, Byson landed his Lovegun lariat as Mooney jumped off the middle rope, giving him the pin and win.
Afterward, Byson gave Mooney his props, saying he has loved getting to know him and wrestle him and that GRIND is as much his as it is Byson’s.
He then turned his attention to the aforementioned Greene, who was not in the building. He addressed the attack from October and then issued a challenge for High Strung on December 31st in Worcester, MA: a strap match!
Andy Brown (w/ Let’s Wrestle Champion Mac Daniels) defeated BRG
The stipulation going into this: with a loss, BRG can never challenge Daniels for his Let’s Wrestle title as long as he remains champion.
BRG knocked Daniels off the apron before the bell even rang, hitting a big tope to Brown to get the advantage early. That didn’t last long as Brown’s power took over. “Thiccc Daddy” hit a senton bomb for a close near fall which was preceded by working down BRG including driving a knuckle into his side while ensnaring him in an arm lock.
Brown nearly got the win after an FYF, a rebound German suplex, a buzzsaw kick and a Tiger Driver sequence that made Daniels’ eyes go wide.
The end came when Brown grabbed the title to use it and referee Eric Greenleaf was distracted while taking it away. BRG then went off the ropes and Daniels hooked his leg. A distracted BRG was then taken out by Brown’s Finish Him punch, ending his hopes at getting revenge on Daniels by winning the Let’s Wrestle title.
Limitless Wrestling Champion Ace Romero defeated Slade in a no DQ match to retain
This was quick and this was violent.
Slade started things out by going after Romero in the entranceway and it was on from there with trash cans being used before action ever got into the ring. Slade, wearing scars on his back from so many past battles, found a barbed wire wrapped wiffle ball bat that Romero brought out with him and dug it into Romero’s scalp to cut him open.
Slade erred, trying to body slam Romero on a chair before falling under Romero’s weight. The champion took control, opening a Christmas cookie box that revealed a dastardly assortment of Legos which signaled to the crowd that this was going to get more intense.
Slade eventually hit his body slam on Romero onto the Legos in an impressive feat of strength that Johnny Torres called “The World’s Slatest Slam.” As he went for an attack, though, Romero caught him and delivered a death valley driver through a door that was perched in the corner…but just for a two count.
The intense and insane Slade then traded shots with Romero before falling victim to Romero’s power-infused lariat for the pin and win, giving him another successful title defense.
With the win, Romero wraps up another notable year in Yarmouth, Maine, and looks ahead to December 31st’s High Strung in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Notes:
Ricky Morton, Kerry Morton and former LW World Champion Alec Price have been announced for Limitless’ January event on Saturday, January 21st. This will be Price’s first match in Yarmouth since losing the title to Romero. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, December 7th at 7 PM Eastern.
Johnny Torres, Sam Leterna and the debuting Alyssa Marino were on the call with Ethan Scott handling ring announcing duties.
