The Great Divide results & recap: The Channing Thomas era, part deux
By Josh Nason
If there’s one thing Channing Thomas knows how to do, it’s win Limitless Wrestling World titles in shocking fashion as he did at this past Saturday’s The Great Divide.
Thomas became the second-ever two-time Limitless titleholder, thanks to the first-ever two-time champion (Anthony Greene), Aiden Aggro, J-Heru and, of course, Sidney Bakabella after what this writer would call a barrage of bullshit.
Thomas ended the 119-day run of Dezmond Cole that began with his win over his rival Thomas at last September’s Nine Lives. But how it ended will be talked about and discussed for years.
The sequence began when referee Gina Monti was knocked out of the ring which brought out Aggro and Heru at Bakabella’s behest. Luckily, Cole has friends as Aaron Rourke and Gabby Forza ran out to even the odds and run them off.
Cole got the advantage and was about to finish Thomas off, but Bakabella pulled second referee Nate Speckman out of the ring and slugged him which should earn him a fine and suspension if not a lifetime ban. As Cole stared Bakabella down, out came Greene, playing the role of white knight and offering up the manager to Cole as a sacrifice.
It was all a ruse.
Bakabella smiled and tossed the Limitless title belt to Greene who then laid Cole out with it, followed by a piledriver. Thomas followed suit with his own piledriver and Greene tossed Monti back into the ring just in time to count the three, giving Thomas his second title reign.
It was a disgusting scene and with Greene conveniently jetting off to Japan once again, who knows when we’ll get answers to how, why and what next.
Here’s the rest of the rundown from last Saturday which you can watch free on YouTube if you can stomach how it ended:
Aaron Rourke defeated Blake Christian: Christian made his LW debut and found a partner who was ready to match him offensively. Rourke picked up the victory on a roll-through to surprise Christian who we hope returns. Rourke then took to the microphone to tell everyone that despite a tough end to 2024, 2025 will be his year and one where he wins the title.
Aiden Aggro (w/ J-Heru) defeated Anthony Greene: Perhaps this loss is what sent Greene over the edge as he shoved referee Gino Monti as he was pounding on Aggro in the corner. She didn’t DQ him, but Aggro used the distraction to hit a jumping impaler DDT and his running knee strike to get the win. A despondent Greene then got on the mic, saying starting tonight, this would be Limitless’ best year to date. Son of a…
Gabby Forza defeated Tiara James: James was a late sub for the injured Billie Starkz so we again await that first time ever match. James made a good accounting over herself but eventually succumbed to Forza’s power and the fire thunder driver.
Swipe Right (Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor) (w/ Susannah) defeated Jermaine Marbury & Milo Mirra (w/ Benny The Basketball): This was the Yarmouth debut for the Smokes & Baylor team who were looking to rebound from the prior Sunday’s loss to Alec Price & Rourke. They had an equalizer in the mysterious Susannah who did her best to distract everyone. Marbury, Mirra, Mirra’s pogo stick, Benny and a basketball were all major parts of this entertaining matchup, but Smokes & Baylor ended up picking up the victory.
Delmi Exo defeated Ashley Vox in a Last Sister Standing match: This was violent as expected with a cheese grater, tacks, a door, a trash can, and other inanimate objects getting involved. Paris Van Dale also attempted to get involved, In the end, Exo feigned wanting to reunite with her sister but it was a ruse as Exo swerved her which led to a package piledriver on a chair that gave Exo the victory.
Alec Price defeated Zak Patterson: Price was a mystery sub for Conan Lycan who had to miss the show due to illness. As expected, he was more than game to teach Patterson a thing or two but also learned a thing or two as well. The young Patterson gave Price all he could handle and then some, showing incredible power and promise. In the end, Price rallied with his own unique array of offense to pick up the win.
1 Called Manders defeated TJ Crawford: This was a bonus match with Manders making his first appearance since September 2023 and Crawford making his first appearance since June 2024. This was hard-hitting with Manders hitting just a little harder, scoring the win after a Stan Hansen-esque clothesline. However, Crawford had no interest in sportsmanship afterward, blowing off a handshake and walking to the back.
Limitless Wrestling’s next show will be back in Yarmouth, Maine, on Saturday, February 22nd, with the return of Donovan Dijak and all the fallout from The Great Divide.
